Trip Overview

Jomolhari loop is the most popular tourist trek in Bhutan. Jomolhari Trek is a bit longer. Because of the vast difference in the altitude of the trek, the trekkers are able to experience a variety of Flora and fauna during the course. The trek goes through various picturesque landscape from farmland, alpine pasture land, forest in the valley to high altitude passes among the mountain ranges.

The amazing feature of this trek also includes the spectacular campsites, that are situated at the base of snow clad mountain peaks namely Mt. Chomolhari and Mt. Jichu Drake. The trekkers also get the privilege to witness numerous Dzong which now lie abandoned or a few well established and flourishing ones as well scattered all along the trek. They not only provide an insight of various eras of Bhutan’s culture and administration.

Speaking of the fauna of the region, the most prominent of them are blue sheep, musk deer, marmots along with Bhutan’s national festival the Takin. Also, you cannot rule out the possibility of encountering a snow leopard or Himalayan bear (however, don’t mistake them for Yeti, like many tourist usually do!)
